Sarah Sherman
Dear class,
The impact that counterproductive communication would have on Marty is to make him feel heard with out any interruptions or suggestions. This way he is being encouraged to let all of his thoughts and feeling out and as a social worker can use this information to help move the process forward and make measurable goals. Verbal and non verbal communication is important to notice and understand as it can be used to understand the client better if the words are not coming out right. And the social worker can use the cues to help the client feel heard.
