BAS221 SPORTS PSYCHOLOGY Mid-term Task brief & rubrics
Task: Individual Essay
• Students will write an individual essay on the influence of psychological factors on Sports performance.
• The Essay is to be self-reflective: Examine your own experiences and growth together with a situation that you have lived yourself or very close to you.
• The essay should address the following aspects:
o An initial introduction to the situation
o An approach that explicitly deals with Performance aspects
o The level of participation (amateur or professional athletes)
o Surrounding factors (Family-related, Competition-related, and others)
• The student must address all these parts with a self-reflective style and conclude with the learning aspects of the experience.
• Academic sources are needed whenever talking about Sports Psychology theories. Please use Google Scholar, EBSCO or similar.
Submission: Week 10 – Sunday 3rd April 2022, at 23:59 CEST (via Turn-it-in).
Weight: This task is a 30% of your total grade for this subject.
Formalities:
• Wordcount: Between 2000 and 2500 words.
• Cover, Table of Contents, References and Appendix are excluded of the total wordcount.
• Font: Arial 12,5 pts.
• Text alignment: Justified.
• The in-text References and the Bibliography have to be in Harvard’s citation style.
It assesses the following learning outcomes:
• Critically assess the influence of psychological factors on the behavior, performance, and level of participation of both individuals and groups in sports
• Identify a range of psychological issues that occur for athletes in sport settings.
