You should be able to find this information in the title of the case, where the court and the year of its decision will be included. Also remember to note whether the case opinion was authored by a trial court or an appellate court (you can tell this from the name of the court, such as the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, for example). If the decision in the case was issued by an appellate court, what was the finding of the lower court decision that preceded it?
