HRMT Week DQR

Hello Class & Professor,
We made it to week 8! This is a great topic to touch on. It’s very clear and proven that men make more than women. Now there has been a lot of progress made to improve and close the gap. Women have significantly launched jobs in management and leadership positions, which has changed from the early 1990’s where it was nonexistent for women to be in positions of power. According to Business News Daily Women are underrepresented at every level, and women of color are the most underrepresented group of all, lagging behind white men, men of color and white women. The study revealed that the underrepresentation of women in high-level roles is not due to lack of education or attrition rates. This directly states that this is still a heavy issue that is still being worked on and assessed. Equality for women in the workforce will improve through just simply making it equal for men and women to get paid fairly because why should one gender get singled out? Many businesses should reassess job requirements and ensure that there are no acts of discrimination to prevent women from filling higher positions. Oftentimes businesses forget to invest in proper training programs that all workers can benefit from. This helps reassure that all employees no matter their background or gender have the opportunities towards training and job advancement. Businesses should eliminate harassment and gender inequality. If any of these acts are committed in the workplace it should be immediately reported to management or Human Resources. Career advancements should be equal for all and there should be no bias towards one gender.
I wish everyone all the best in their next classes. Thank you Professor for being an awesome teacher!

Workplaces are more diverse than ever, it consist of different gender, races, culture etc. We face many issues with workplace for these type of diverseness. One had we have to deal with race inequality other hand we have to deal with gender inequality. Gender inequality is a very interesting factor that modern workplace face. When it comes to gender inequality there are many things involves in it such as pay difference, physical attribute, work load. For centuries we tend to think women are to stay home and take care of the children and home activities, this mentality has change when women are joining workforce and taking all different positions which was traditionally hold by men. Pay difference still exist where women are being paid less than their men counterpart for the same duties. Although there are laws and regulation that prohibit employer to pay women than men but this is still happening. Most time it happen because the victim don’t want to bring it up in lime light or simply just accept the fact and go on fearing loosing job. Blame goes to our society as well , we tend to think women are vulnerable for holding higher position or even hard to accept order from a woman. There are many research done where it shows customer tend to thin if their issue are being handled by men it would be done correctly than women. So as you can see not only an employer need to change their view for women when it comes to gender inequality also we as consumer or general people need to change our attitude as well regarding this matter.
An organization can take many steps to reduce the number of incidence with gender inequality or eliminate it forever. Organization need to set their pay structure which will not discriminate gender, when its time to offer position to internal employee there need to be gender neutral process to find the best candidate, there should be strict guideline about the consequences if there is issue with gender inequality arise. Hold seminars and workshop to educated employee regarding gender inequality.
