Chavez Ravine essay. Be sure to also read the paragraph that describes
your assigned essay found on pages 298 and 308 to help you
understand the author’s argument. Then complete the following steps:
● choose an excerpt that reflects the author’s argument (be ready to
share this in class)
● write a response to the following prompt: This unit’s subtitle is
“Becoming American,” explain why your essay fits into this unit.
Use details from your essay to demonstrate your understanding of
the author’s argument. Be sure your response is not just a
summary of the essay, but rather, includes your own analysis,
critical thinking, connections to other course material, discussions,
