Students should choose one topic covered up to that point in the course and prepare a one-page (double-spaced) summary of an empirical study on the topic. For example, students could write a summary on relations with the police. Summaries should include a brief description of the topic area, the purpose of the current study, an overview of the findings, and a discussion of the importance of the study (e.g., what could the findings mean for youth in the system?). Students do not need to include statistical information.
