- Write a one-page description outline of strategy and risks/rewards, advise the CEO of options/risks and recommend a best course of action to resolve the crisis and communicate it effectively (max. 300 words) of your group’s crisis communications plan presentation that recommends:
- How the hospital should respond to the hacker’s demands.
- How senior leadership should communicate that response to all of the hospital’s key stakeholders.
- Prepare a one-page taking-points document that the hospital CEO in the group case can use to brief a specific audience about the hospital’s response to the hacking crisis. (The CEO does not like to use scripts and prefers to work off bulleted notes.) Include topline messages followed by Q&A.
- Group Presentation & Slides: You are a consulting firm and I am the CEO of Sunnylake Hospital, which is in the midst of the cyberattack described in the HBR study. You have time on my calendar to present your group’s crisis communications plan for use in the scenario described in the HBR case study. Make sure to address various stakeholders. Group presentations should be 8-10 minutes plus Q&As. As part of your plan, recommend a solution to the crisis (pay the ransom, don’t pay the ransom – and why) and then tell me, the CEO, how to manage the communications plan.
